Flower Power
Flower Power was a group exhibition that explored gentleness and fragility as power represented through the flower.
Artist Statement: Flowers draw us in, prompt us to take a moment and notice. Acting like miniature beacons calling us to connect with our environment and with others through a shared appreciation of beauty. Children fully embrace this call: pointing to, smelling and often picking these garden stars. Squished in grubby fists, stuffed in pockets, offered as a gift, stirred into a potion and sometimes arranged in constellations. Pansies, daisies, wattle, nasturtiums, dandelions, clover, our commonplace and wondrous neighbourhood friends.
